Maria Pia Piscitelli is regular guest in the most important theatres and concert halls in Italy and abroad, such as: Teatro alla Scala, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Teatro la Fenice in Venice, Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna, Sferisterio Opera Festival in Macerata, Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Staatsoper in Hamburg, Opéra de Paris, Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, Liceu in Barcelona, San Francisco Opera, Colon in Buenos Aires, Teatro Municipal in Santiago de Chile, Nikikai Opera Foundation in Tokyo, Beijing Opera. Amongst her recent successes it is worth mentioning Norma (concert version) at the Wiener Staatsoper; Macbeth at the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava; Pagliacci at Teatro Lirico in Cagliari; Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Beijing Opera and at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin; Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at the Hamburg Staatsoper. Mrs. Piscitelli collaborated with prestigious conductors as Yves Abel, Marco Armiliato, Paolo Arrivabeni, Maurizio Benini, Daniele Gatti, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Evelino Pidò, Jordi Savall, Alberto Zedda and directors such as Hugo De Ana, Gilbert Deflo, Dario Fo, Yannis Kokkos, Denis Krief, Damiano Michieletto, George Miller, Elijah Moshinsky, Pier Luigi Pier’Alli, Luca Ronconi, Federico Tiezzi, Franco Zeffirelli.

Plans include Simon Boccanegra in Vienna; Manon Lescaut at Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona; and a series of concerts in Tokyo and in Taiwan. Mrs Piscitelli will return to Tel Aviv singing Norma.

One of the most appreciated bass of our time, Riccardo Zanellato recently gained great successes as Ferrando in Il Trovatore at the Salzburg Festival besides Placido Domingo under Daniele Gatti, Bellini’s I Puritani and Lucia di Lammermoor in Florence, Simon Boccanegra in Dresden, Turandot at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, La Bohème and Norma at the Teatro Regio in Turin,Norma in Paris, revivals of Macbeth ( R. Abbado/R. Wilson) at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna and a Gala concert for the 5th Anniversary of the Guangzhou Opera House in China. Riccardo Zanellato recently made his debut in Attila (title role) for the opening night of the season at Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Michele Mariotti conducting and Daniele Abbado directing then he sang Sparafucile in Rigoletto at La Scala in Milan, Ramfis in Aida at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia, David McVicar directing, Zaccaria in Nabucco in Kiel and Bruckner’s Te Deum in Bari, Claus Peter Flor conducting.

Mr. Zanellato’s future plans include: Aida in Naples (Pinchas Steinberg conducting); Norma at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw; new production of Don Carlo in Leipzig and at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa; Nabucco in Stuttgart. Mr. Zanellato will sing Verdi’s Requiem with the Berliner Philharmoniker in Berlin under the baton of Riccardo Chailly and with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischer Rundfunks in Munich under the baton of Riccardo Muti; Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in St. Denis under the baton of Michele Mariotti with the Orchestre National de France; Rossini’s Stabat Mater in Tanglewood; concert gala in Chicago with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Riccardo Muti.
